turbo or blower queston

i have an LO3 in my trans am. what would it take to put a blower or turbo on it.. do they have a turbo for the motor? if so what is the site? what kind of engine mods would i need to add the turbo or blower? thanks

You could bolt either on to the stock engine, but you would realize the additional power better on a freshened motor (new heads, forged internals, etc) nothing fancy, just not stock.

For a blower:
Probably a supercharger kit would best suit your needs. You get the head unit, the belt system and bracket, fuel management, etc. You will need a carb/tbi hat to use this though, unless you swap to tpi or something similar (SR, HSR, LT1 etc.) Probably a good amount of tuning too.

For a turbo:
This system will be totally custom. You'll need one or 2 turbos, your choice, you can make equal power with either. Headers/manifolds need to be fabricated, downpipe, compressor discharge tube, and a way to mount all of this. You can buy an intercooler if you want to go that way, but you will need custom work to install it. A wategate and/or blowoff valve is necessary too and must be plumbed in. Then lots of tuning and testing.

So basically, a SC would be easier, but turbo (in my opinion) can be had for cheaper and make better power, if you have the know-how.
