LPE 219 with a blower
Thinking of rebuild see https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=198698
Will the LPE 219 cam work good with a blower or should I go for a LPE 220 cam.
I want the car to perform good without the blower too....

neither
--you want a cam that has more exhaust duration as well as more exhaust lift. You want what is called a "split"
go over to camaroz28.com and in the forced induction area do a search for "blower cams" you will find a lot of good information
Is this still a TPI setup?

Superram setup. I was thinking of going over to HSR put I dont rev it that much very often.........
The 383,SR,LPE 219 is a PROVEN combo theirfor I was thinking of it. I will do a search at Z28 forum.
I've read that a SR would like to have a single patter camshaft for making most power......
Does a blower cam make good power without the blower?

the 219 cam is a great MOTOR cam not a BLOWER cam....every combination really needs a specific cam.
Will the LPE 219 work with your blower combo? Sure it will.
Will using that cam lose horsepower over a blower specific cam? Very much so
i know a cam who used a blower cam for a turbo motor and when he finally installed a turbo specific cam (not even custom grind, off the shelf) it only picked up 25peak horsepower but it gained 60hp throughout the rest of the range
also, when you go FI the intake selection isn't as big of a decision as people make it out to be. You can use the TPI setup and still fly it will just take more pressure to do it because it cant flow as much. Make sense or should i explain?
lastly, yes a blower cam will make good power on a motor w/o blower. Most motors will benefit from a "split" duration cam because the exhaust flow is never up to par with the intake flow. So you hang the valve open a little longer and a little higher to compensate for it. The reason why the LPE219 is so popular is because it works well, short duration/high lift (great for making power just need good springs) and gets past the sniffer test.
Hope that helps

if memory serves that cam is suited well with the exhaust bias but doesn't it have a 112LSA?
you'd want more, like a 114LSA
Comp has a lot of off the shelf blower cams that will work well. Look into those

Thats a decent cam but may be a little small for your heads. In your sig it says 195cc canfields, do you have a flow sheet for them?
If you had some numbers on them i could help you pick a better cam out or give you an idea on what to look for.

I REALLY like the LPE 219, but for a blower setup it’s not the best choice unless your heads have KILLER exhaust ports (as in if they flowed 85-90% of the intake ports)
I'm not as impressed with the 220, but it would be a better choice for a blower motor.
What power band are you looking for?
