nos plate question

i have a nos tpi kit and the place where i dyno my car claims that the plate itself is restriciting my setup considerably. claims almost 10 hp because of the plate?

any truth to this.....obviously i plan to dyno the car just to check but it seems a bit much. anyone ever had such a problem? i figured that it would only help since it gaps that much more but i'm sure i could be wrong.

It works wonders when it's plumbed to the bottle it was intended for You're situation reminds me of the guy who forgot to put the blower belt on

What size TB do you have and what size plate is it? A mismatch would probably be the only way power could be lost. If they're both 58mm, you don't have a problem.

the plate is definately smaller.....the tb is a 58. you know how the shops are around here, i think it's just someone looking for excuses. having a crack in the intake didn't help at all so hopefully that will be the real issue.

Next dyno run, run one with the plate, and one after you take it out. Id look at it like this, N/A it might restrict 10hp, but it also gains 150hp when you are using it what it is for.

If you want that 10hp n/a back, switch to a wet setup.

I'll buy the plate from ya(trying to convert my Cheater kit to TPI), if it the newer one with the bars through the middle and both nitrous and fuel go in on the same side I want that one specifiacallt to hide it fairly well.

Does your throttle body plate have crossing spray bars or parallel spray bars? If they are parallel, you could take some material off the sides of the plate that the spray bars arent on. If you were to do this, I would tape the spray bars to keep aluminum shavings out as well as tape up the nitrous and and fuel inlets on it.
