LG4 + Supercharger?
i'm just in need of some general information on superchargers. I have a 86 Firebird with a 305 ci. LG4, 4bbl, w/ computer (i think) stock except for some boltons (listed in Sig). I would love to get a supercharger for it. who makes them? how much do they run? how much to install? if i decide to get a 350 in the future, could i take it off and put it on the 350? thanks.

B&M?
At one time back when I was in highschool (late 80's) B&M or Wieand had a 4-53 setup for a single quad and it had EGR. It was supposedly 49 states leagal and worked with you stock carbed small block and it worked on most small blocks. Do they still make it? I don't know. You'll hafta search B&M and Wieand yourself to find out.
If it is still available it would be the ticket for you. If it is the only mod to the engine you make you should figure on a respectable 220-230 HP. Add headers and a mild cam, maybe 250-260?
If you did away with the EGR valve you could just run one of the regular under the hood roots type 4-53 based superchargers by either of the afore metioned companies, and get the same results.

I see that you already have the headers. How much power did they give? Was it really noticable? I had an LG-4 in my 87 T/A and was going to just add the headers and 3 inch cat back, but went with a 355 instead. I still wonder how the car would have run with just the header mod, a set of 1.6 rockers, and an intake.

Easy anwser - there isn't one.
Really you could run any roots type supercharger you wanted. FYI wiend makes a kit specifically for 86 model SBCs (based on the 142ci blower). Granted you will have to cut the hood but it is basically a bolt on. Centifugial setups will work but alot of fengaiiling will be required and there isn't a "kit". Either way the carb, distrobutater, and computer has to go.
