Made some shakedown runs
Made it to the track Wed night to do some testing with the car.
The track was running the 1/8 th mile because of the wind/rain.
First pass I let off a little early...
60' 1.860
330' 4.564
1/8 6.718
mph 109.67
Second pass lost the blower belt @ 6700rpm second gear...
60' 1.518
330' 4.051
1/8 6.320
mph 99.86
1000' 8.750 <----track opened up full 1/4
1/4 11.206
mph 86.66
last run I decided it was time to let it fly the whole 1/4, I was having problems keeping it at an idle... (later found out why)
60' 1.685
330' 4.409
1/8 6.584
mph 113.96
1000 8.455
1/4 10.025
mph 144.30
Ok, now I hate to throw out excuses, but I data logged the last run, and found the air fuel ratio was at 9.13 to 1. That is as low as the wide band will read. I believe the first two runs killed the plugs, and that is the problem I was having keeping it at an idle. Overall I am pleased with the cars first runs down the track, I learned a lot, and will start the tuning on the first. I will let you guys know how that turns out.
Later DonB.

Congrats on making it out to the track Don!

SHOWING PROMISE bro! Good job!

Wow! Awesome times.
I love the last run, 10.025...
I hope to see you make it to the 9's. I doubt it would take much more than a few minor adjustments, and maybe a degree or cooler weather.
Got any pictures, or information on your car, suspention, and engine?

144 huh… that’s good for about a 9.4 assuming everything else works out, and if that was at somewhere around 9:1 you’ll be able to find more power then that. What are you shooting for, 8’s?
does this thing still see any street time

good job! 9:1 A/F, I hope nobody was smoking!
looking to get in the nines this Saturday night.
Engine management is FAST w/wideband.
The car does get driven around the neighborhood if that counts
.
Justin, this is the motor I am willing to let go! You could have one He]] of a short block.
Thanks for the words of encouragement guys, I'll let you know how it goes on Saturday.

Huh… I really have to make it up to Cecil some time, I’m just past Baltimore towards DC, It’s probably only an hour or so from me (Capitol and 75&80 are much closer…)

man that car looks mean, looking at that thing gets me pumped to work on mine, what kind of traction set up does that car have?
Damon, yes these runs were made at Cecil, and that is where we are headed this Saturday.
83 Crossfire TA, This Sat. would be a great night to make the trip to the county... the weather isn't going to get any better, and they are running the Ultra quick 8, and Pro mods. There will also be another third gen from this board there (gpz406) looking to spray his way into the nines!
Come on down! It'll be a good time.
mw66nova, I am a member of the NMCA, although it has been a while since I have actually raced in an event... I was in EFI-11. I do make it to the events at Cecil, and Maple grove every year, it is a great orginization, and I am hoping to run a few events next year.
Justin 87 GTA. I will get back to you soon, I'm sure we can work out a deal. I'll write you soon.
Thanks everyone, I'll let you know how it turns out soon.
