This is my NOS setup, do I have it covered?

This is the items I'm gonna buy at Summit if no one objects:

1. NOS-05104 Super Powershot, (OR NOS-02004 Cheater)
2. HLY-12-810 Fuel pressure (safety) switch.
3. Do I need anything else..?

The fuel pressuere switch I'm a bit uncertain about, because it clearly states that it's a oilpressure switch, but perhaps the ful is supposed ro be at the same psi level as the oil...?

Anyhow, it was Summit who reccomended the switch on their hotline yesterday, but it might be wrong.

I'm going to retard the spark at the distributor since an ignitionbox is a bit expensive, at least all the ones I found with a retard function.

Do I need anything else?
Is the fuel pressure adequate? Or even right?

EDIT: That pressure safety switch is all wrong, this is my revised shopping list:
1. NOS-02204 Cheater
2. NOS-15660 Fuel pressure (safety) switch.
3. NOS-13720 Super Powershot range jet pack
4. NOS-16058 Remote bottle opener.

For a total of $665.54 dollars

Keeping it all stock if it's possible.. but there cant' be alot of pressure from my stock fuelpump who's only feeding a small carb.. It's a lg4.

In essence, that was my question too, "what am I gonne do with the fuel supply?"

You might want to upgrade you stock fuel pump to one that puts out a little more volume and pressure. Something like a holley street pump.
Also, on the fuel shut off switch, NOS makes there own switch that actually goes right inline with the fuel and cuts the power to the whole system if there isn't enough fuel pressure. This way you don't run lean and cook your motor.
The mechanical pump should be fine if you are just running the super powershot, but if you go with the cheater, you might want to think about running a dedicated fuel system for just the nitrous. Since the cheater can put out about 100 more horse than the super powershot.
What mods have you done to your motor to prepare it for nitrous?

Yes, I know Nos sell their own fule pressure sefaty switch, but the problem is that they have 6 or 7 different kinds, with a wide range of psi ratings. I'm just not sure what to buy here. Nor am I sure what my original fuel pump delivers in terms of fuel pr hour, psi and so on.

Absolutely NO mods to the engine. It wil get a tune up, rebuilt carb, high flow aircleaner, but that's about it.

Of course, I'm not going to use the cheaters full potential.. at least not before I have a "new" crate engine ready at hand... perhaps I'm gonna build one myself, don't know yet.

I was thinking about a 100-150 shot. But still.. I would LIKE to get a fuel pressure safety switch.. lol.

100-150 will be fine for that motor. A fuel safety switch is definatley a good idea, especially if you are going to keep your stock pump. I'm not sure of the pressure that pumps puts out either, but I'm sure it isn't over 7 psi.
If it is possible, hook up a fuel pressure gauge and find out.

Okey, but what psi range should the fuel pressure safety switch be in?

I would try to keep it as close to 7 as you can. That should support 100-150 hp from the nitrous.

You are going to want a better fuel pump. Not sure what year your car is, but a brand new replacement stock fuel pump wouldnt hold up to my 350HO crate engine when it was stock, so I definately wouldnt try running 2 fuel systems off a similar pump.

why don't you just put the money for that somewhere else? i would suggest a set of headers and a full catback. the a holley carb with a good intake and a non-cc distributor. all these things will wake up that little lg4. then knock yourself out with the nitrous. does anyone even make a kit for a quadrajet carb?

Yep, they make alot of kits for the quadrajet. After all, it's the most common one, since most people don't mod their cars...

I won't get anything in the same ballpark of HP with regular mods for the small amount of money a NOS kit really is. My car isn't computer controlled, its an export model without egr, computer and catalyst.

I dont think converting to a holley is in the lines I have for this car, I'm thinking more like first a new shortblock, 400 if I can get one, then a tpi system, or preferably a stealth or miniram, then a vortech blower if I can afford it, and finally heads and new exhaust. I know this is a little opposite direction of what's normally reccomended, but it will give power without sacrifising mpg, and since I have done this before with success, I'm thinking of doing it this way again. Giving an engine only more cubic inches, gives it a better way of power gain in my opinion, rather than making a smaller engine come up with more hp.

But for now I would be happy finding out which one of the fuel pressure safety switches I am supposed to use... ;-)

Should I use a pressure switch that's open or closed?
