what amperage draw on solenoids?

I am in the process of building a dual stage shot of nitrous and have two sets of solenoids. One set I have are the sniper ones that I have used for about 2 years. I decided to add a second stage so I bought a used set on ebay. These are the nos powershot ones. I was testing them out to see if they worked tonight and they click just fine but when I checked how many amps they all drew I got mixed results. Here is what I came up with.

Sniper fuel-less than 1 amp
Sniper N2O-6 amps

Powershot fuel-1 amp
Powershot N2O- 2.5 amps

Do I have some that are weak? I was thinking that the N2O ones were supposed to draw about 10 and fuel about 5. I think that I read this somewhere. Any insight would be appreciated.

I was under the impression that sniper and powershot selonoids were the same. It sounds like based on the comparison that the sniper N2O might have an internal short, other than that it sounds ok.

This is speculative but, I believe the N2O's are wound to draw more current becuase it takes more electro-mechanical force to unseat the N2O selenoid plungers.

One reason your numbers could lower than expected is because there was no load(fuel or n2o) on the solenoids. The current draw should go up with the load.
