blower innercooler

Anyone have any experience w/ blower innercoolers? no no no... not innercoolers for inline spindle or whatever superchargers, i mean, BLOWER, innercooler... like the ones from www.theblowershop.com they have them there.. I was wondering.. do they do much good? i mean.. wouldn't the heat from the engine pretty much just.. make it not worth the trouble? since it's right there on the engine block?

Also, who else makes them, i've looked & looked.. i don't have one, but.. i'm really interested in this, it's pretty cool i think..... and i just thought i'd let you all know too, :-D

boats have been running them for years the unlimited supply of cool water from under the boat facilitates the use of them.

oh hell yes, they make a world of difference. Theoretically you could go from 8 psi un-cooled to 40 psi cooled, and have no detenation. It's a huge difference.

You know by the way I really forgot to mention you can build your won. I bought a big slab for my 4-71 , just a big custom cut slab and will eventually "core it with copper lines running front to back , probably 3/8" three rows high 4-5 rows wide , with two resevoir caps with an fittings on the end . I have to sub some of it out when I eventually takle that project. Anyways you do the math , thousands for an aftermarket or hundreds and elbow grease and phone calls for your own. If you have the spare cash buy a premade? Lol. I would. But you know....

I run a spacer / sheild on my FAGEOL set up that cools the intake charge but with no water , the spacer is for a pop off for nitrous backfire and the sheild is a plate I made to get the Fageol on and off the motor very quickly(long to explain why) , but it ended up serving a third purpose and it keeps the blower charge very cool by separating the heat from the engine transfering to the blower. Again this was not made to cool it just ended up doing so. Hogging that small slab of fortal aluminum was a trip when all I have is a drill press , sawzall , and jig saw, but I didnt burn any blades. You can bet I will have the NOVA's slab water jet cut. Lol.

Anyways , check out this homemade 471 intercooler on Steve Wells Ford pick up. Over email he said he picked up around 75 extra hp perhaps more.

9.7 1/4 mile with a 4500cc rover v8 and a 4-71!!!!

Dont forget the book street supercharging if your new to superchargers or even seasoned.

By the way the new rotors from BDS that run very cool and can add an extra 100 hp alone are called "AIR LOC " rotors.

Funny. a Centrifigul supercharger is more of a "blower" then those 671 and 471 units everyone loves.

The big blower look is cool at the car shows. Not sure i'd ever consider bolting one on anything I own. Unless I bought a '32 ford or something..

In terms or "blowers", only the roots and the twin-screw can truely be blowers. Because they are "fixed-displacement", meaning they have an internal displacement, and blow a certain amount of air under each revolution. There is no way in hell to predict what a centrifugal will blow with out testing it, and it's thermal efficientcy is a complete nightmare to figure out.

Roots are positive displacement pumps. Centrifigul is more of a fan, or blower.

Predicting how much it will put our per revolution? Yeah that would be hard.
