Well I believe only the 93 LT1 had a MAP sensor, because it was speed density. 94-97 LT1's have MAF sensors. but regardless, a turbocharger will behave in mostly the same way as a centerfugial supercharger would on an LT1. The packaging is just more difficult so less and less people do it. check out the "Forced Induction" forum over on Camaroz28.com. There are a lot of really fast people running turbo LT1's over there.

All of them had MAP sensors, but after '93 it became a backup to keep tabs on the other sensors, possibly used for limp home…

As far as turbocharging an LT1, if you can tune it then it can be done

I recall seeing a video of a turbocharged LT1 4th gen Z28 from www.transamws6.com

Man it was SOOOO sweet. The turbocharger was mounted in the rear. An ingenious design if you ask me.

Maybe Zephyr still has the video?

Not a 3rd gen, but a 62' Vette. 93' LT1 with Direct Ignition System. 12.8 @116 @ 9PSI nonintercooled. 1 run before track shut down for rain, didn't hook til 90MPH.

New turbo to support 700HP @ 14PSI with intercooler. The entire engine is orange/polished aluminum. The entire intake/water pump is polished now. The engine is absolutely beautiful. Frame was POR 15ed. Not my car, but it looks amazing now....hopefully it will run better then it looks. I'll get some pictures of how it looks now with the new turbo/IC setup ASAP.
