how to hide plate system?

ive decided to run the juice for a bit. but i dont want to take alot of flak for it.. so i really would like to hide the plate.

my plan is to run upto 150 shot jets on a NX kit, and use a progressive controller to ease the shot in so that hopefully, no one knows.

ofcourse, the first time i whoop one of my LS1 buddies with my "new heads/cam" they will be looking underhood.

i have NOT bought a kit yet. so if there are other affordable options, id love to hear them. the topshot kit is out... i have a vac secondary carb, and i dont plan on switching carbs. the NOS under manifold kit is out of my price range... i need to stay under $800 for the kit and all of the saftey devices... including the nitrous mastermind, spark plugs, ect. this basicly sets my limit to around 500 for the kit.
ive seen the thru manifold spray bar design... but im not confident i can make a accurate spray bar.

ideas on how to hide it would be helpful... pictures especially.
if you dont want to share them with the world, i understand.. and as one N2O guy to another, you can email them to me and i will never share them... my email is hiddennitrous@excite.com

so basicly, im looking for any hidden method to safely spray nitrous/fuel into my motor for $500 or less.

the motor has a single plane intake and a 750 vac secondary holley on it. fuel delivery is planned to come from the FPR... and is pushed by a intank walbro 255 pump. if i have to be sneeky, i can change where the fuel comes from.
if it was in the budget, i would run a stand alone system, mostly so i can run race fuel (added saftey).. however i feel that the 255 is adequate for the shot. i do have a hobbs switch to cut nitrous in the event of no fuel... im mostly just looking for a hidden nitrous system, or a way of hiding a plate system.

99% of the posts are "how do i hide my bottle" posts.

just FYI. this actually IS a new topic. one of the obvious ones that people dont seem to talk about that much...

not being rude, just proactive

My nitrous system, with all the safety switches/fittings/etc, cost me over 900$ and it *wasn't* hidden. The progressive controller is going to be your most expensive part besides the kit itself.

I'd venture a guess and say take the spray bar out of a plate system and run it through the back of the intake.. but I'm an EFI guy.

Good luck.

Get one of those carb heat shields and hide the plate, lines, and solenoids under that.

Mount the bar into the plenum of the manifold. Run the supply right into the liftervalley and bring it out the back of the block, run the lines out back and hide wherever you want, probably in the lower sail panel. The EFI guys run individual ports under the manifold in the valley. Slick, hidden and hard as hell to tell. But a bitch to install, bend lines and if you have a leak, you'll be disassemnbling.

One way my friend runs is very simple yet very effective... Rather than using the hardlines that attach the solenoid to the plate he put braided ones on and mounted the solenoids inside one of those huge 4" thick dropbase air cleaners. He put the solenoids in the back of the air cleaner then cut out a small section in the back so the lines could run in and out. To hide the fuel and nitrous supply lines he just routed them along a big group of wires inside wire looms. Is this the best way to hide it? Absolutely not but if you just pop the hood and give it a normal looking-over nobody has ever noticed it. Of course, if the person was specifically looking for nitrous they'd probably find it but glancing at the motor in a dark parking lot you'll more than likely miss it.

Another trick you could do is not hide your nitrous at all ....Just get a dumby bottle. Put the real nitrous bottle in the spare tire well (only 3rd/4th gen owner even knows that compartment exists) then mount an empty one somewhere in clear view with some dead-end lines running to it. Then, when someone wants to run you but doesnt want you spraying tell them you'd be more than happy to remove the bottle You'd be so suprised how good that trick works

The main issue, which you already know, is you better spray out of the hole or use a progessive controller - Theres nothing more obvious than hearing a motor come outta the hole then suddenly start to speed up like it magically gained 150 extra HP.

uh huh!

Nitro daves has put the spray bars into the intake manifold, i think this would be the easiest method, the solenoids could easily be hidden in the cowl or air cleaner.
