Intake manifold recommendations?
Does anyone have a recommendation for an intake manifold on my small block? I have a stock intake and a Holley 4160 with an adaptor plate. I was just going to slap my nitrous plate between my carb. adaptor and the carb, but there's no hood clearance and it's ugly. I bought an Edelbrock performer intake, hoping I could just bolt my Holley 4160 on there and use the nitrous plate without the adaptor plate being in there too. Nice plan and everything but it's 2" higher anyway, so it defeats the whole purpose. Does anyone make an intake that's stock height, but with a squarebore pattern?

The edelbrock torker II has a square bore and it is pretty close to stock height. I'm using it on my current combo as well.

victor jr... not sure on exact height but its shorter than a rpm airgap.. or possibly an EPS intake(performance wise: a step above the performer, a step below the rpm)

Re: Intake manifold recommendations?
i fit a nitrous plate, and a vic jr under a stock hood, no air cleaner, but it fit. I have also fit a performer rpm air-gap under the hood with an L88 corvette drop base air cleaner, which is the lowest drop base they make IIRC.

Torker II: Manifold height: A-3.53", B-4.63"
Performer EPS: Manifold ht: A-3.74", B-4.80"
Victor Jr. : "The low-profile of the #2975 works well in applications with minimal hood clearance and where 1" or 2" spacers can be used for performance tuning." ...nice and everything but no measurements I could find.
I tried the performer but it's too tall, so I'll assume the Torker is too. I'm picking up my drop-base air cleaner tomorrow, we'll see how much rrom that gives me. The Victor might be my narrowed-down option.... but Jegs price is: $197.99 ....ouch!

Re: Intake manifold recommendations?
the torquer 2 is a good option, but you dont have many choices under the stock hood, especially with a nitrous plate. Ever think of getting a bigger hood, will make life easier.
