Vacume advance with a blower and boost referenced Carb
Vacume advance with a blower and boost referenced Carb
Hello I have a 350 with a small b&m blower. I have a mallory unilite without vacume advance and a msd digital 6 ignition. My question is I would like to get a little better gas mileage on the highway and I was thinking about getting a vacume advanced distributor. The problem is when I boost referenced my holley I used the Vacume advance port on the right side of the carb. What would I hook the vacume advance up to now? Also I have been looking into getting a boost timing master for msd ignitions and I seen they have one with vacume advance built in. I think it has an additional dial for the vacume advance but I'm not sure. Also I believe it shares the same boost port that controls the timing retard under boost. Would this be the way to go or sould I just buy the conventional btm and a vacume advance dist. Also if anyone has one of those vacume advanced btm please let me know how they work because they don't really say on msds website.

You should use a ported vacuum port, it will have no signal with the throttle closed, but when you crack the throttle it will see engine vacuum. That will allow it to work correctly while you’re moving without messing with anything when you’re just sitting at idle
