Easy HP?

Looking for mods like plenum porting... Anything that will make my engine run cleaner/louder/ or faster.. Perhaps under the hood detailing... Lets see what you guys got...
when porting your plenum do u have to buy new gaskets? or will the old ones be alright?

Most of the time my plenum gaskets are re-usable if I'm careful. Some porting is okay on a stock TPI, but really you need to ditch the whole intake for one of those LT1 style rams. You could practice on port matching. I've found a driveable difference on every engine that I've done. Intake to cylinder head should be exactly the same. Plenum also. Exhast ports should be enlarged a little and then enlarge the exhaust manifolds larger than the head. Smoothing out exhast ports on the cylinder heads are good, and smoothing the air ports in the intake are too. Don't smooth out intake ports in the head too much. So long as they are enlarged, its okay. Intakes should be done to the full size of gasket portholes. Clean out your throttle body and smooth out around your IAC port. De-burr everything. Remove the screen in your MAF if you have one and smooth it out, too. BE CAREFUL NOT TO TOUCH/BUMP/SMOOTH THE HEATED WIRE IN THE MIDDLE!! High flow air filter. If you have a stock air box, cut out as much of the intake side as possible. Those are some of the things I do to go on the cheap. Hope it helps...
