fast help involving plenum gaskets

I pulled off my 350tpi plenum to polish and port it and i broke the gaskets when i pulled it off... if i tighten the runners into the plenum real tight will i be safe to drive it a couple of days without the gaskets? Otherwise would autozone have them???

If all else fails where do i order them from... thanks wes

You would almost certainly have a vacuum leak. I wouldn't do it. Back when I had my '85 Z, I think I got a set of gaskets from Schucks, they even had them in stock!

Yeah they will have them, but most of the time you have to get a complete intake set.

Yes, autozone will have them. It comes in a set that will run you about $26 and includes all gaskets for runner to plenum/intake, new intake gaskets, TB gaskets, and new o-rings. I wouldn't crank down on that bolt period since it's aluminum, you're bound to mess up something by overtorquing.

If ya need to, you can reuse the broken one with a bit of silicone on the breaks, then it'll hold ya till you get new ones. Like previosly said, you'll have massive leaks if you try running w/o them.

Any decent sealant will work in their place also... I use some non hardening stuff instead of gaskets.
