Impeller Speed
Ok, i've got a Vortech V-1 S-trim supercharger running a 2.87" pulley with a 7.75" crank pulley. According to Vortech's calculator on their website, this combo is running above the blower's max. impeller speed. What is this impeller speed? Does the blower spool up to that speed and stop or does it go higher?
Here's the calculator:
Vortech Calculator
According to spec, the blower's max. impeller speed is 50,000 rpm. My combo, shifting at 6000rpm, is putting the blower at 55897.21 rpm. Is this safe? I was going to put a smaller pulley on it until I ran these numbers through the calculator. It scared me a little. I'm only hitting about 10psi of boost with this combo. What are other ways I can increase boost?

We'll. if your math is correct, you are overspeeding your blower head unit, once you start doing this you start living on borrowed time with the blower...
The only way your your gonna make more boost, is sell that head unit and upgrade to the next size up. Or maybe talk with vortech, see if they have a exchange program.
hopes this helps

Procharger told me theirs will live 5000 rpm over the max they had listed.....But I do have a impeller here that i overspeeded and it hit the case and ate itself to pieces.
Your call, i would stay where they say.
