Will this blower fit???

OK, so i got my hands on a hot short block that was pro built for a blower, my friend has a 142 Weiand blower that he we jus took of his 71 Nova for a ATI procharger, his motor and my motor are the same almost, built by the same shop, $15 000 for the short block, handle 900 horse or so, his can handle 1200 since its a strocker, and mine is a 355. So im thinkin of gettin the 142 for my motor, the only issue i have, is that i jus painted my car, and put on a Ram Air II hood on it in the process, so im wondering if this little blower is gonna fit under that hood or will i have to go crazy with a 6 inch cowl or some retarded **** like that.

If you paid 15 thousand for a shortblock and aren't making at least 650hp right now you got screwed. If you are making the good numbers that little thing won't help.

I didnt have it built, my friend did, thats what it cost him, i know the guy who built the motor, top of the line, its a blower motor, it runs strong by itself, but with that little thing on top of it it spins forver if you want it to.

The motor itself will run high 11 maybe, but i know its in the 12 for sure, since th nova hauls *** with no blower on it, but its a lo 10 sec motor in almost any car that can handle it.

Its a purpose built mouse, and its purpose is to be supercharged.

Heh, I'm thinking of getting that blower too and wondering if it'll fit under my 3 inch cowl hood.

No offense but a 142 weiand will only handle 500 to 550 hp max from what I've read on here.

Anyways this topic has been stoned to death... I'll handle the searchs for you (if you want more there's tons):

I won't even bother commenting on the short block purchase since this is the Power Adder board lets keep it tech related.

If that is truelly a $15k motor then do yourself a favor and dont use that puney thing. Either go with a 6-71, 8-71 or T-88 THAT will put you in the 10's for sure, assuming that big bad motor can handle it, lol.

The motor can handle it, dont wanna go with a bigger blower since it is still a street car, well a daily driver on good days to me so i dont wanna get over the top with a 6:71 or something like that, i was gonna get a Procharger for it, but my friend ofered me the blower from his nova since hes dumping 20 more grand into his nova so he dont need it no more, so spend 4 grand on a ATI or spend 500 bux on a blower that will give me 6 PSI of boost.

Thats what i want, and thats what the motor call for, we had it in a trans am, with street tires and no third gear at the track, spun all the way down it and ran a 11 flat. Its a sick little mouse, heck it dont need a blower on it, but once it has that little thing on it as you guys say, its gonna move. So anyway back to the paint of this thread, will it fit or will i have to change my hood.
