Ok i plan on running nitrous this summer. I am new to nitrous but know the basics. My Motor is a 350 SBC bored .030 over. 9:1 comp,mild/wild cam, ported/polished heads, Edelbrock Torquer intake, 600 cfm carb, headmen headers and 3" exhaust with 80 series. Well im gonna be putting in a low mileage 700r4 with B&M shift kit, corvette servo, and BIG trans cooler. My Question is do i really need a converter with a Anti-balloon plate? Also what would be a good street/strip stall? Im not gonna go above a 150 shot. Also any other things i might wanna change. Im gonna use a MSD distributor, retard timeing (how many degrees should i run?) and run 93 octain. Oh yeah and i have 3.73s out back.
Thanks

with a 150shot, retard the timing 3-5 degrees, and use 2 heat range colder plugs.

Retard the timing 8 degress to start out with and tune from there. You may not even need colder plugs. The anti balooning plate is a good idea, and really any converter worth buying is going to have one in there. I myself prefer the vigilante tq converters. They are pricey, but very streetable even with a higher stall, are very reliable, and come with a free stall change. Remember though that the initial hit of nitrous will make your converter flash slightly higher. I have a vig 3200 single disk stall behind my nitrous engine making well over 650 hp, and it's been very good to me so far!
