ATI Procharger on a Edelbrock Carb ?'s

Im looking into doing a power adder for my being built Vortec 383. Ive looked at Nitrous, but would rather have the all time power, So sense ive got Procharger some 10min away from my house, im thinking about goign to them after a bit for a kit.

I dont see hardly any, (actually havent found one) 3rd gen with a Carb and a Procharger on it. Im guessing the carb would have to be preped just like anyother Blow Through set up.

Engine is a Scat 9000 crank, Scat I beam screw Cap rods, with ARP hardware, Sealed Power Hyper 9.63:1 pistions, Ported Vortec heads, a performer Intake, 750 carb, and a XE268 cam. Think this combo will handle 8 PSI decently? Ive seen the 8-12 PSI being ran on stock L98s, so i was hopping this would handle it decently for a daily driver. It will be intercooled of course, might go wtih the Twin set up that Willie did.

You'll probably have trouble finding Nitrophyl floats for an AFB-type carb.

I'm running a blow thru set up. Also have a 383. Its a great set up once you get the tune right.

As for your set up, may want to look at a different cam for s/c. Also start conservative with your timing, fuel, and boost- considering 9.6 comp with iron heads and hyper pistons.

Are you satisfied with the performance it gave you Blown3Gen? Im guessing youve always ran the Holly carb under it, how large of a cowl did you have to step upto to run that hat. They Hyper pistions should handle the pressures of boost better than the cast, but i know that if it detonates, ill have a lot of chunks in the bottem end.

Also Blown3Gen are you planning on moving up to a Intercooler setup latter on? What boost are you running and what comp ratio did you build it to. If i get addictied to the boost (witch im hopping) im probly going to start building a second engine in a year or so, with a 8:1 ratio, forged, and up the boost to get me somewhere around 600RWHP. Im hopping to break 450RWHP on this set up.

What is a sugested cam to run on a Engine set up like mine + 8-10PSI? I should probly buy one of the books on street supercharging or call up ATI, but their offices are closed right now

Satisfied-.... yes very much so ....for a while, but always want more. That is why it is for sale and am going with a D or F series.
I run a holley 750 DP "HP" series. The standard ATI hat will fit under a stock hood. I do have a harwood 2.5" cowl hood, which provides plenty of clearance for my set up: RPM air-gap with 1/4 spacer (so 50cc acc pumps clear) and ATI "tall" hat that I welded a 1" spacer to (for better flow).
I'm not looking to go intercooled. The carb acts as a heat sink which is sufficent at my boost level. I do however have a progressive water/methanol kit for extra cooling (runs right next to top rad. hose in the pics). An intercooler is good, but I justify not using one to save wieght, simple, easy to intall, no pressure drop.
As for cam, I ran that exact cam in my last N/A 383. Nice daily driver- street perf cam, but would go 1 step bigger if I did it again. For the S/C I would look for something with the following: 1) LSA of 112-114 2) longer exhaust dur. Contact Comp, Crane, Cam Motion, etc. Would be glad to help out in giving my "opinion" but its your car - so got to go with what you want.

Thanks for all the great info, i was looking into alky injection to, and taht would save a bit of work instead of installing a IC.
