how do vortec heads respond to boost? i can aquire a procharger, but i have a set of vortec heads, how much will they hurt me?

so my 1.94 and 1.60 vortecs with exhaust porting, and a dual plane and headers should work well with a procharger running 8-9 lbs of boost non intercooled?

 

which procharger unit you getting

To run 8-9 lbs of boost non ic on pump gas i'd say you'll need 8.5cr MAX.

I'd start off with 5-6lbs till you get a handel on the tune then swap pulleys for more boost

DEPENDING, on cam and sc unit it shouldn't be very hard to get 500fwhp

 

With a blow through carb setup you will be fine with that boost level. The fuel pulled from the carb has a cooling affect on the incoming air.
