a couple of nitrous questions

im thinking about getting nitrous for my 305 to give it an extra kick in the mid RPM range. my 305 has a weiand intake, .467" 278* cam, hedman headers, and a whole bunch of other smaller things like an electric fan and a recurved distributor, etc..

do you think it would be safe to run a 100 shot? ive had people tell me before to start with a 100 shot and work my way up, but i think 100 would be enough

i have the stock 84 z28 hood with a 14" drop base edelbrock air cleaner. will i run into clearance issues with the nitrous plate under the carburetor? right now it doesnt hit but ive noticed some rub marks in the chrome of the air cleaner, i dont know if thats from the fire blanket or what

i have the stock ignition, would the MSD 6A ignition suffice? i know alot of people run the 6AL but is it really worth the extra 50 bucks to have the built in rev controller?

Yes it is worth the extra money for the 6AL, especially with a manual transmission car. If you cheap out and buy the 6A, you will just wind up buying the 6AL later down the road (like I did). Use some clay on the top of your air cleaner to see what kind of clearance you have to your hood. Most spray bars are around 1/2", so ideally you should have at least 1" of clearance.

once you ride in a juiced car you will be hooked! just remember that fat is happy and lean is mean :-) also pay close attention to you timing and make sure you have the proper setting of retard and cooler plugs in before you hit the nitrous. you will be amazed at how much a 100 shot does to a car
