when filling bottle?

My bottle is empty....when I have it filled is it better to put the bottle in the freezer and get is ice, frozen cold? also my bottle is showing 400psi, is it better to empty the bottle all the way since its just air or should I leave whats in there in when I have it filled?

I have an NOS refill station but no longer fill bottles. When I did ,if I had time I would freeze the bottle and shoot it in without the pump since it was faster that way.The bottle warms up very fast when filling so if the freezer isn't next to the refill station it won't help much.

It's not air it's still N2O just not very much.Weigh the bottle. A bottle can be filled completely empty or half full but I have been at other shops where they tell the bottle owner to empty the bottle then give them some BS story about can't fill it unless it's empty that way they sell an extra two lbs. I believe if I were ever told that I would have to ask "Well how do you get the rest of the nitrous in once it reaches 5 lbs?"

what if I leave the bottle in my stand up freezer overnight? and then take it to have it filled? will that be good to do? I have a electric pressure gauge sensor and a heater transducer and a bottle opener on my bottle ,,,will freezing hurt any of those things?

Disconnect those things before you put it in the freezer.

Yea I would remove them also, the tare weight should be on the bottle so if that stuff is on there when you take it to get filled the tare will be off.If you empty the bottle completely and then have the weight checked you could then establish a new tare.If the refiller has a pump it really doesn't matter if you cool it but you can if you want.As you know they fill by weight not pressure unless there's a problem and pressure starts to exceed 1200psi. I've found that at 4 lbs. nitrous weight there becomes no improvement when you hit the button then at 3 lbs it's slowing down so you don't want to dump 3 or 4 lbs.
