No but seriously I had this guy offer to sell me a 144 pro-street blower for my carbed 355, my question is what's needed to run this power adder? The motor currently has aluminum heads/victor intake/holley750DP/pop-ups/roller-rockers/headers...uh nothing stock to make the list short. So, am I wasting my time and not-yet-spent-money on this adder or what? It says in Jegs that they are intended for stock motors.

 

two things that would be good to have

1. adjustable fuel pressure regulator (boost/vacuum controlled)

2. a msd ingnition box that retards the timing per psi

theres plenty of other things you could use/ need but it all depends on how much psi you plan to run

 

I had a 6-71 on my 68..but my fuel pressure was not set according to boost.. just left it at 6#.. it was a carbed application.. I thought only FI needed a boost referenced fuel press. reg.

 

Since the 144 blower is a draw-through, boost referenced fuel pressure is unnecessary. Of course make sure your system can supply the 5 to 7psi it will need to work correctly.....

A 144 might be small for a higher reving small block withe good heads.....

Pop up pistons? With a blower?? Not this guy Seriously, popups are putting your compression WAY over what you should be running for a roots blower. A roots blower likes 7.5-8.5 depending on boost levels.
