best location for oil drain in the pan?
I am making some oil drain lines right now and can't decide where to put the oil drain fittings on the oil pan. The picture shows how the turbo(s) sit far forward on the engine. In order to keep the hose as straight as possible and short it would be best to weld bungs onto the pan in front of the engine mounts.
Is this an OK thing to do? Pushing hot oil at the front of the crank & rods. Would it be better to put the weld bungs before the oil filter like Vortec suggests?
I planned on filling the pan with oil off of the engine to see where the oil level is so that I can install the bungs above it. Just not sure where to put them. I am thinking the front is better.
Any thoughts on this?
Thanks

There ar 2 major things to consider.
1) the drain must be ABOVE the oil level in the pan. This is most important.
2) You need a smooth downwars slope for the oil return.
The front corner of the pan seems like the perfect location for you.
You don't have to worry about the crank or rods at all.
