turbo options for my 85 310

I'm starting to plan out my turbo setup. I have plenty of room and I would like to build a turbo setup for my 85 310 motor. I'm running a carb, 1406 600cfm. Would it be cheaper to build my own headers from pipe bends, or just buy a kit? I'd like to go as cheap as possible, I dont care how hard the work is. I'd like to see decent boost, but not get crazy, maybe 5-6 psi. Does anyone make a turbo kit for our cars that is decent on price? Should I junk yard a turbo, clean it up and do it that way or what would be my best option. Again, i'm looking for cost effective turbo setup, work isnt an issue. thanks.

Do a search for a guy by the member name of 89JYTurbo. He made a Twin Turbo system for his car using the stock L98 exhaust manifolds and converting them to turbo manifolds.
