Just a few quick questions regarding FMUs on our cars. Some i KNOW ive already asked at some point but cant remember/find again.

1. For a setup not expected to run high boost numbers what kind of fuel pressures (roughly i know it can vary) am i idealy chasing for

idle (no vac line connected)?
3psi(low boost setting)?
6psi(high boost setting)?

The reason i ask is that the Malpassi fuel reg i have has no markings to tell me what ratio it is. I got it used and have no paperwork with it. I just want to be able to get it on and see if its going to do what i need it to do.

2. As i mentioned in another thread (old) I can only find the one boost reference point and so it already has a spit line to my boost sensor(gauge) and BoV. Would adding the FMU reference to this cause any dramas with the accuracy of its readings?

what kind of fmu is it? a rrfpr or what?
i don't think adding the fmu cause any drama, i've ran all mine off one main vaccum source.

not all fmu's raise the fuel pressure the same

Sorry, yes its a boost referenced FMU. Malpassi is the brand that make it, and they are very popular with the jap import crowd.

I realise that FMUs raise pressure at differnet ratios (1:1, 6:1 etc) but i have no way of knowing which one this is. So thats why id like some 'target' fuel pressures to aim for. If this reg doesnt get them up high enough or raises pressure too high ill have to buy another one.

What ratio does ATI have in the ones that come with they're kit?

Yeah. That gets thrown at me everytime i ask about RRFPRs here :P

At least in the short term its just not cost effective getting all that gear from the states and shipping it over. Especially for my application of only 6psi.

oh yeah i didn't realize you were from the outback

witha low boost setup i wouldn't even bother with the eprom. Look into other peoples setups that have a rrfpr

Now a REALLY stupid question... which one of these lines is the return?

old pic

Coming out of the engine, is it the top or bottom? I think i read somewhere that it was the larger of the pair. Is that correct?
