newb 305 build
I am adding some power to my 305
and i've gotten so far on the planning
K&N filtercharged (installed)
Not decided on the throttle body yet
Edelbroc Performer Intake from Jegs i dont have to mess with the EGR (i am getting the bore machined to 2" at a local shop)
I am going to try and nab some 081 tpi heads
an LT1 cam off ebay (not sure here)
Hooker 2 5/8" long tubes
3" Y pipe to magnaflow(installed) and cut outs
then edelbrocs 67gph Fuel pump from summit... which i think should be fine.
i already have some type of accel ignition system... i need to look yes i know
my rear end due to abuse from the shift kit is worn to hell in back... not sure where to go in that direction...
and yes i've been told... building a 305 is a waste of time
but that just fuels the need to do it
plus my parents would kill me if i brought a 350 block home randomly

Are all those parts you listed stuff you already have or stuff that you plan on getting? If you end up getting another rear end, try finding one that has some steeper gears (if you don't have some now). That alone will make you feel faster.

Should this be in power adder ?
Anyhow as far as gears , if you already have low gears an increase will be the biggest seat of the pants feal .
What were you asking ?
