O2 Injection

I was thinking about nitrous while driving the other day. Nitrous makes car go faster by giving more 02 to the engine (partly, anyways) So I thought, why not just rig an O2 cylinder to give the engine more + colder
oxygen? Wouldn't be that hard to build into the intake, would it? Just need a N02 control valve and I'd be set. What does everyone think of this? My main concern is over shooting the O2 and burning holes in my pistons. I know that O2 is slightly more volatile, so I'd be injecting it waaay back, probably near the air filter area. That way, it would dissipate and mix with ordinary air better.

There'd be no way I'd ever think of using oxygen in an application like that. Nitrous itself is a safe non-combustible gas, that doesn't release its oxygen until it experiences the heat and compression of the combustion chamber. Oxygen in your intake would cause the immediate incineration of any oil it came in contact with, like on your valves or your cylinder walls. Ask a welder what oxygen does to oil and grease. You might as well just drive around with a bomb under the hood.

Nitrous actually provides more power than you'd get with pure oxygen. Along with the added combustion potential of the extra oxygen, nitrous also releases harmless nitrogen, which is more or less an extra exhaust gas and helps drive the piston down.
