How important is exhaust on twin turbo car?
I have a friend that is building me 13/4 headers but what should i do about exhaust? I don't need the high flow as much with turbos right. I figured i could run the pipes of the turbo down and y them together to my 3.5 mufflex catback. any suggestions
Hey, has your friend ever built turbo headers before? That have to have very thick flanges and usually made of stainless steel. Do you think maybe he could build me a pair? I have the money just dont feel like paying $1800 for custom kook's!
Also, your 3.5 should be good, but exhaust is very imnportant. Remember nomatter what motor you are building, get as much air/fuel in and as fast as you can out. This is what really makes horsepower: NO RESTRICTIONS ANYWHERE. Let me know about the headers. Since we both are doing twin turbo projects, maybe we could help each other along. BTW, what turbos are you going with?

I,am going with the TO4 turbos from turbonetics and there race gates. Are you ditching the ati? I don't know if i will use ss but i will have them coated at a machine shop close by. This guy has built many headers for drag cars but i think this is his first turbo header. I talked to bill at speedway and he said use 1 3/4 tubes and a 2 1/2 collector no bigger. He said try to make them as equal as possible. This guys knows his stuff he has a 1600hp street vette featured in high tech mag. with the old motor only 1000hp on the bottle. Bill is very helpfull and told me to give him a call if i need help. He said he could do my car 355 with my heads TFW and super ram for 1000hp but at a cost of 20k, so instead he is going to help me do it myself. Turbos are so cool.
