Just have a couple questions for you. I am thinking about purchasing a Darrell Young 2200-2400 stall converter. I was just curious, if you liked this unit and do you think it is enough stall for my car? Did you have any problems with yours? If so what were they?

Never had a problem with mine. I was delighted with it. Got me a best of 1.79 60' on the one legger.
Worth the money although Im sure you could get better times with the vigilante, but they are pretty expensive.

What else will drop your time 5 tenths for $700, excluding nitrous? I am not paying $600-800 dollars for a torque converter. That is ridiculous. If I can pull under a 2.0 in the 60 ft. with a converter for $200 bucks, that is just fine with me, and I will have another $400 dollars to spend elsewhere.

Maybe it is maybe it isn't. What if I drop $700 dollars in it, and it doesn't give me 5 tenths? What if I pay $200 and it doesn't give me 5 tenths? At least I am only out $200 instead of $700. I have heard good things about them but I am just not ready to spend that kind of money on something like that, I still have headers that need coated and installed along with many other things. So I need to bargain hunt!

Honestly, dont know anyone who hasn't gained at least .4 tenths. The whole idea behind the vigilante is that you run more converter and less gear. the reason you can do that is because the vigilante has a huge torque multiplication rate. what that means is that torque is multiplied by the converter at almost twice as much as any other converter. that is why they say gain 5 tenths. Also, they are custom built for your application and get a warrantee and a free stall change within two years. go to www.converter.com or look at some of the 60' times of www.fasta4racing.com
I see they have some other converters for $279 dollars, but what stall are they? I would be willing to pay that but not $700
