On a stock TPI engine- is nitrous worth the risk?

I have a 350 TPI with little mods such as jet chip and shift kit. Now, could I safely run nitrous on my stock system? Or would it blow my engine? What is the biggest shot I can put on it?

You can safely run 150HP shot in a stock 350 TPI.

Agreed. We have both run 150hp shots on our 305s

If you want to be really safe, just jet 100hp

Go for it, I am running a 100 shot on my 350 TPI with a Bottle heater and a window switch. I have gone through about 8 bottles or so with no problems.

Later,
Aaron

What kind of difference did it make, and how many miles are on your engines? I just recieved my kit today and hope to install it next week.

Sorry for the late response.

I picked up roughly a second and about 8 mph.
My motor has 15,000 miles on it, I am very cautious though, I have heard of guys running a 150 shot with no problems.

Good luck with the Kit

I have had N2O on my stock L-98 for 3 years as of last August. I have always ran a 150 shot. NO PROBLEMS with it. Just watch out for the tranny. I'm on my fifth one.(700r4) It has gone 7.94 @86 in the 1/8 and 12.52 @110 in the 1/4 with some other mods, but stock engine.
