i have always been told that the best place is to tee into the fuel regulator vacuum line. that is where mine is and it works fine

The two existing vacuum ports on the plenum are for the fuel pressure regulator and vacuum tank. It does not matter which line is teed into as a source for a gauge. Vacuum is vacuum. The vacuum tank line is easier to tee into because it's rubber and it runs along the firewall by the brake booster. There is an access hole in the firewall below the three-relay bracket (close to the vacuum line). If you tee into this line, it is out of sight if you tee into it near the access hole. Make sure it's between the plenum and one-way check valve, not between the check valve and vacuum tank.
