?'s for those w/blowers

im very close to buying a new engine, but am not sure what to do... my question is how reliable are roots type blowers and/or turbos? if i wind up installing a blower, it will be on a 355(built for a blower). the other engine im considering is a normally aspirated 383. I am driving it as a daily driver, and gas mileage isnt a huge concern(although i'd like around 15mpg). The 383 i have in mind is a BRE model, pounding out 400hp and 450lb/ft. If i wind up building a blown 355, i'm assuming it will put out about 450hp and 500lb/ft. the rest of my drive train is taken care of, so no worries about a broken tranny or rear. those of you that do have them, do you worry about having to keep them in tune often?

Hey,

I have a Weiand 142 blower on my 88 GTA, and I have had zero problems with in in approx. 4,000 miles. The power increase was dramatic...lots of fun...and love that whine! Clearance is the main issue. I had to cut a hole in my hood, and I have the carb and air cleaner sticking out.
