New info on ATI self-contained blower kits for third gens....within>>
Larry, Darrin and anyone else who has one,
I talked to Dorian today (Jan 10). Because of our input (i.e. problems), ATI will be installing a self-contained kit on an IROC-Z they will be getting tomorrow. Imagine that, not only designing a kit but installing it to test for fit and functionality(can you detect the sarcasm here)???? So for now, instead of experimenting with spacers and shims for the bracket, crank pulley or blower, they want to set aside my belt walking problem until they finish their installation -- and hopefully create the same problem.
This will affect all of us. But it's about time they did this. I'm supposed to contact Dorian in a couple of days to see how things are going. I'll keep everyone informed.

The P1SC and D1SC kits for third gens have been available for about four months. Larry bought one back in October whereas Darren "upgraded" from a P600B to the self-contained blower about the same time.
The problem lies in the fact that ATI never installed this kit to test for fit/functionality. It was designed on a computer, then released... not the way to do it. In fact, as of this date (Jan 2001), ATI still does not have instructions for the self-contained units. I got instructions for the P600B blower. Even so, they are awful. The pictures are barely discernable and there are steps missing. In addition, what is described is very vague.
As for the hardware, some of the spacers are the wrong length and some of the supplied bolts are also wrong. The spacer problem has not been resolved as of this date. Once it is, hopefully my belt throwing problem will be eliminated. In the meantime, I cannot use my car.
