Joining the SC ranks

I just purchased a used ATI 9-12 psi kit today from a guy selling one that lives about 2 minutes from my house. Its the older style drainback type. I've been reading a few of the threads here on belt throwing...I'm hoping some of that has been worked out of this system since its been used....are the older style as prone to these problems as the self contained units?? Someone else already asked this as well, but how much does displacement affect the boost level. I'n running a 379 cid set-up which I hope to lower the boost since I'm currently running ~10.2:1 CR NA. I'll have to address that at the next engine tear down. I read back in Car Crafts '91 Z28 build up that the Vortech S-trim produced 10 psi on the 305 and only 5 psi on the 383 they built, would this be typical? Anyways I'm pretty psyched....once I get this T56 swap done I'll work on installing the SC next.
