TBI supercharger
TBI supercharger
I've got a 92 RS 305 TBI and I can't find a manufacturer that makes a supercharger for my car. Does anyone know of a TBI supercharger? If so... what's their website? Thanks ahead of time!!
Paxton used to make a kit about 3 years ago but they don't anymore.
I've done this mod, and let me tell you a few things.
First, it's not as easy as it sounds. Yes, all you have to do is follow the directions and "bolt it on", but you are by no means done at that point, not by a long shot. There's soooo much tuning and testing, and tuning, and testing, and....you get the point.
If you have the $2400 (how much mine cost) to spend on a supercharger, I would honestly recommend that you spend that money on a larger engine, 350, 383, 400. With just a mild version of any one of these engines you would be just as fast as a blown 305 TBI (my best time to date is 14.421@95.96) and you would have an engine with A LOT more potential.
Since I chose the path less traveled, I'm going to go all out on this thing until it dies. This year will just be a tranny rebuild with a 2500rpm stall converter. But next year I'll be doing intake, heads, cam, and all the little helpers that go along with that like 1.6 roller rockers, etc. And with all of that I'll only be running in the mid 12's, I hope.
Just some stuff to think about.
Good luck with whatever you choose.
Mike
