Nitrous and high compression???

Is it bad to run nitrous on higher compression engines. I have .125 domed hyperetictic pistons. The compression ratio is 10.32:1. Right now I run around 12.6 in the 1/4 and am looking for a 12's but not at the cost of hurting my motor. So can I put a nos system on and how much can I saftly use. Thanks

yeah you can run nitrous with high compression, in fact, it's pretty much the only power adder you can use effectively and get a good benefit from it, and since youve got hypereutectics running, you can run plenty of power depending on if you wanna run plates or direct port, if you want anymore info feel free to ask, and in the mean time check out www.nosnitrous.com or www.nitrousinfo.com plenty of info there good luck

Im currntly running same pistons and was also curious. Should I retard timing even more. Im running a Edelbrock Perdormer RPM Carb,Cam, Intake and Heads.

l think you should be able to get away with atleast 250 the rule of thumb is to retard your timing 1 degree per 50 HP gain your best bet would be to just get an ignition retarder so you can retard it from inside your car with ease, that way when youre not on nitrous, you can run at a normal timing, and when youre on the nitrous you can have it retarded. you could probably push 300 horses with hypereutectics, but l wouldnt do more than 250, 250 is a ton of horsepower, not even a roots blower can make that much more power. if you do decide to run 250 do plug cuts after runs, make sure its running good and have plenty of fuel to back up the power.

yeah good call havoc, l almost forgot about edelbrock, zex, the other one, is mainly for small motors and imports, NXpress is another good one, and TNT is sort of underground right now, as far as cheapest, NOS and Edelbrock should do the trick.

Not tryin to frighten you, but i had a corvette with nitrous and had the motor built for the stuff and was told NOT to use hypereutectic pistons because of the chemical difference and if you get bad detonation....it could be really REALLY BAD. I have heard of others using nitrous with these pistons and having no problems from third gen? Just passin on info via my own experiences. Also, you may want to put a purge valve in line with the system OR put another nitrous cylinoid 1-2inches in front or behind the primary no2 cylinoid for a safety! I was on the street with my vett, had the laughing gas on and all of the sudden it started running like crap at a stop light? Immeadiatley, i turned off the gas and it ran OK. I turned the bottle back on, seemed to have no problems so i got on it..................B O O O O M!!!!!!! no2 cylinoid gone bad! warped my tws head, burnned 2 valves! Pistons were forged so np there. So the 100 bucks for an extra cyliniod or purge valve for a safety is worth the extra protection!!!
