I think there is a different AC box you have to use. I pretty sure the Gale Banks setup had A/C.

I think he is concerned with the fact that the a/c compressor is right in the middle of where the turbo would sit. I have looked and thought the same thing. I think the easiest option would be to get rid if the a/c. You might be able to though, please post if you figure out a way!!

Maybe a dumb question, but why wouldn't you be able to just put the turbo on the drivers side of the engine? That's how the supercharger kits install without losing AC. I could understand if you were relying on headers from an existing kit that were only available with a passenger side mount, but is that the only reason?

not only the location but also heating problems. Ive been told the turbo tend to make the cars run hotter and so does a/c especially when ur running .30 and .60 over. do they really make it run hotter or just another myth?

I think that is just a myth. yes the exhaust temps are higher so the under hood temps can get up some, depends on how air flows through your engine compartment. But if your cooling system is working properly, the t-stat is going to keep it @ 180, 190, 160, whichever you have in it. the engine temp in my TR never gets over 185 (rock steady) & it is a 78 with the turbo sitting right on the intake manifold right next to the hood. mind you this is not a BIG hp monster, but it is no different than any other car that i have seen.

Yeah this is possible, I tried posting it before and a mod deleted it. Here goes! You need to use the 85-87 type brakets that relocate the AC on the driver side. The get a street-n-performance bracket that drops the alternator down to the front of the block on the same side. Nothing hard to do until the hanging the turbo. Gale Banks engineered a sweet kit for the 85-87 TPI and then it just faded away, I still have a pic or two of it?
There is plenty of room for the turbo if you use the big or small alt hanging down low. Another advantage is the fuel pump blockoff plate is a nice place to dump the turbo drain into, and is almost a straight shot down from the turbo.
I called Banks about getting a manifold for the single turbo F body and they said they were long gone, in 92 I think. Would love to have one though. I have the old brackets in case I try to hang a turbo on again. Now I have the 98-92 serpentine cause the good blower kits use those, and I wont have my Paxton forever, cough..PROCHARGER..cough
