need some advice on accel turbo manifolds?

You can see the manifolds a few posts down "anyone looking for sbc turbo stuff" Will these manifolds support 750hp with two T-04s and what type of waste gate should i run. They look like they will fit, i have my ac off and just run a idler pulley in its place on my 89 iroc. They look alot like the banks only the turbo mounts more in the middle then to one end.

If nothing else man, you could port them or have them extrude honed for more flow.

I would think they could support 650hp. Turbonetics said they should be good for 1000hp but i doubt that.

Turbo Technology says that they have had customers get 600 hp out of one of thier single turbo manifolds. kind of makes me think that if you picked the right turbos & ported the manifolds that you might actualy be able to get 1000 hp out of them.

not having played with one (or two), this is purely conjecture though)

I think I'am going to buy them, hope they fit under my hood. I could have some headers built later down the road.

my GTA made 600 flywheel hp with the banks manifolds, stock TPI intake, mild 440/465 lift cam, stock replacement heads with bigger valves, and no intercooler. now, with the rebuild hopefully we'll soon see how much they'll produce (see specs in sig). i may be switching my miniram to the Accel Pro Ram though...

OK man looks are real deceiving on these accel manifolds. For starter's the turbo is made to sit with the compressor housing hanging over the valve cover and intake manifold at a 90ºangle looking towards the engine from the front of the car. The turbo hit's the strut towers on the passenger side if flipped the other way. It seems like I remember the maniflod not bolting up all the way because the valve cover rail on the centerbolts hit it to. I took my Accel manifold to a head welding place and asked them to change the flange to mount it forward. They said about $200 to do it. But the turbo still sits way to much rearward to be of any use. The only thing I can suggest is to pass on those manifolds for a thridgen car. There was an LT1 header that can work if modified. You could modify the crossover entrance from the other bank of cylinder's on the LT1 Turbo kit to vertical with a tilt towards the engine and be way better off than those old Accel units IMHO. You can use one of the Accel manifolds and get the heater box from a rare model without AC and it will fit, a carb model if you have the priority valve setup for it. Damn if you want one I can probably get my old one back and it's complete with a rebuilt turbo, new wastegate and the priority system. I dont see how it will do you much good though. Sorry but I tried this once.

What do you mean pass them onto a 3rd gen car i have a 3rg gen car? I also have a super ram and I'am concerned that may interfere.

What I said was to PASS on them (dont buy them) for a thirdgen car unless you are using them on a carb car. They simply wont work with any type of TPI setup cause they wont fit, anyway I tried at least. I wish I still had my pics of that setup, I tried every dang way there is to mount one on the passenger side, no dice! One option I did not want to do was hang the manifold on the passenger side and put a 180º Ubend from the T04 flange forward to the turbo flipped upside down. This will put it forward enough, but it's going to look like @ss, and I dont want my Turbo engine looking like an afterthought! Some part of that manifold does not just bolt on(like I said above), just cant think of what it kept hitting? Also I was only hanging one on the passenger side, with the old Vbelt brackets that gets the AC out of the way. Your serpentine throws a whole other demention into it, I know it wont clear with that stuff. I wrote the post because I hated to see someone get that stuff that could never use it. If you had a 64 Impala or 72 Camaro with all kinds of room in the engine bay you could hang them both in there, but not on a TPI car. Accel turbo manifold buyer beware, it's not going to fit a TPI car! If you want a manifold to fit ask the guys running Banks manifold how they fit a TPI car. But be ready to build some turbo headers, it you like your current brackets.
