How do you set up the ecu`s crank reference angle? How can I be sure the ecu and the engine are "on the same page" as far as ignition timing goes?ANY advice is appreciated. It`s definately the way to go but for that kind of money you`d think the instructions were just as good. I`ve seen better instructions on Playstation games!!

If you are using the stock gm distributor than you should set the reference angle to 6 deg and make sure your base timing is at 6 deg. You should have made some sort of disconnect on the dist. bypass wire that you can undo to check base timing. The bypass wire is in the four wire connector going to the dist. It depends if you are using the big cap or small cap as to which wire it is.

That`s the way I have it now, so why does the spark BTDC window in the dashboard only read 16 degrees when the bubble is on 36 in the spark table? Every cell from 3000RPM on is set for 36 degrees.

Thats a good question???? If you have 0 in the esc ret dash, then you have a problem. Do you have a timing light with adjustable advance? If so you can see if What the ecu is reading is what you are actually getting.
