what to change when adding nitrous?
My car has 111,000 miles.
I know I have to get a bigger fuel pump, but what else do I need to do to keep my engine from blowing up? i.e. new pistons, rods? I would like to run upwards of 100hp shots.

fully loaded t-tops
red leather
paint- gm red and yellow blend (light red)
custom pink rims
305 tbi k&n,computer chip
MTX sub and amp (very loud)

With 111,000 mile I would defintaly rebuild it. While you are in there I would consider some quality forged pistons. A bigger fuel pump couldn't hurt. Remember that nitrous is basically adding a lot of extra oxygen, therefore you will need to supply enough fuel. If you don't want trouble in the future, build a strong engine, add enough fuel, and retard the timing. This way you don't have to come back later and fix the thing that you cut corners to save money.
My buddy is running the 125 (or 100 i dont recal) shot in his 170K mile IROC & he was knocking down 13.3's all day. he bought an NOS kit for his motor & followed the directions. one thing to note is that it WILL put more stress on an old motor, & this can cause it to give it up. not that it will but that it can. if you are concerned dont do it. if you are not have a good time. gives you cause to build a stoker motor if it goes bang.
