Nitrous questions
Thinking of nitrous in the upcoming months now i have some questions. Can i keep the bottle open all the time.If not how long can i have it open before something goes wrong.how big are the bottles and how long do they last you.

•Can i keep the bottle open all the time.
–––No
•If not how long can i have it open before something goes wrong.
–––Never timed it, LOL
Most manufacturers reccomend opening the valve just before making a pass and closing it just after. You won't likely blow a hose or anything that drastic but you will shorten the time between neccissary solenoid rebuilds and leak off lots of nitrous. If you want to be able to have the valve open and have the nitrous "handy" when you need it then use a remote bottle valve. I don't care much for the ones some companies make that are just another solenoid that you put inline after the bottle. They still leak and restrict nitrous flow and HP output. I like the one NX makes. It is an electric motor that attaches to and remotely operates your original bottle valve.
•how big are the bottles
–––You can buy them from a few ounces to over 20 pounds. Most kits come with a 10 pound bottle. If you want a different size NX will subtract from or add to the cost of the kit and substitute the size you want.
•and how long do they last you.
–––That depends on what size jets you have installed. A system jetted for 150 HP will use nitrous at a much higher rate than one jetted for 50 HP. It also depends on how long you hold the botton down. A quarter mile pass will use a little more nitrous (about 40% more on average) than an 8th mile pass. If you use it only for a part of the pass instead of for the entire pass you obviously will use less.
