Procharger Intercooling?
I was looking at my Procharger brochure the other day and noticed that they have placed the air to air intercooler directly in front of the radiator (it appears that way). I have a transmission cooler there now, so I'm wondering if their intercooler would fit up in there. Anyone know the dimensions or anything that would be useful to know about it? Thanks
Matt

IROCET,
Well i know from first hand experience, the ATI brochures and installation manuals, leave little to be desired.... but the aftercooler mounts horizontally in front of the plastic air dam...
This intercooler is the 3 core.
Also if you decide to go with a ATI kit, you'll have to ditch your March pulleys, Hypertech chip, and platinum plugs.

Two more questions about the intercooler. First, how far back does it go? What I mean is from the front of the car, how far back does it go toward the plastic deflector for the radiator cooling? Second, have you had any cooling problems or higher engine temps with the intercooler installed?
I knew I was going to have to get rid of the pullies when I did a super charger, but why do I need to dump the Hypertech chip and platinum plugs as well? Do you have to use the stock chip, or can you use an aftermarket chip by another company?
Sorry for the numerous questions, but I appreciate the help.

IROCET,
The intercooler takes up just about the entire area that is open from the front bumper to the plastic air dam...it stops about 3 inches before the air dam...
I have the 160 t-stat and 175 fan switch and the car runs about 185 - 190 degrees F. on a 85 degree day(10-15 degrees hotter than before the s/c)...and i still have all the A/C intact
The hypertech chip has TOO much timing programmed into it...your engine will not last very long...you can use a aftermarket chip as long as its programmed with the s/c in mind. I personally am using the stock chip with no problems (knock on wood), and the car ROCKS!!!
The platinum plugs tips stay hot and cause detenation ...
