I'm very seriously looking into a ATI kit SOON

I kinda had a few questions actually

From the info that I collected from their site and info-packets the kit for an F-body is a "P600" and max boostis 12 PSI with that kit ....

Any of you using that kit..how do you like it???

I was looking at the Self Contained P-1SC unit with that instalation kit ..I asume that they will have a kit avaible for that..

What are your guy's thoughts on the P-1SC??

BTW I will be putting it on a
383ci 6" rods
trickflow twisted wedge 2.02 1.60 's
8.5-1 compres.
ported SLP runner & Plenum & edelbrock base plate 52 or 58 mm thorttle body
SLP Headers
and so on and so fourth...

I wanted to know what cam you are running ...that is the last thing that I needed research ia wanted to stall at 23-2400 RPM and I need it to pass smog in CA

Hecubus,

Have you considered a D1sc, ATI has this kit for the 3rd gen F-Body, the P600 and P1sc were both designed too run on stock engines and do not create alot of CFM's of air, though they can be run on modified engines, but for the engine that you have listed in your message, i feel the D1sc is more suited towards your needs.

The D1sc kit comes with the 3-core intercooler, so there is no need to upgrade

As far as the cam goes, i would contact someone like comp cams, let them know what you are looking as far as emissions, idle quality, power, etc...and have them custom grind one for your needs.

I was looking between the D1sc kit and P1sc

I didnt even realise that they were both self contained and the flow rates are very differant 1200-1400 like you described, D1sc generated max boost of 32 PSI over the 30 PSI of the P1sc

Thanks for the help I think I made my decision .. BTW I actually just called Comp cams today and got a custom ground # and all the good stuff

...any tip or anything that you guys might have that might help before I call/buy/install?? ..like where to get a kit for a good price

I too am looking at a ATI kit in the near future, and was dead-set on the D1 kit, but then i saw a 95 camaro with a 383 LT1 in it and the P600B S/Cer... he was making 550 horses at the wheels w/no nitrous.. now im thinking the D1 may be a bit much for me. I am running (going to) on the street and not run over 12psi ever. BTW, the engine will remain a 350(no stroking or going to a 400 block), but my plan is to add aftermarket heads/cam/exhaust. the D1SC is nice... but do you need it? im not saying its overkill or anything, nor insulting those who do have it on this board, im just saying, i didnt realize the smaller S/Cers were capable of the power they are until i saw that car.. so maby they would be sufficient

Yes the D1sc is WAY overkill for the combo that i have right now, but i plan to someday build a engine that can withstand alot of boost and probably alittle sniff of NOS, right now i'm seeing how long the stock 350 will last and just replacing everything else that breaks with upgraded parts.

This car is NOT my daily driver, so if it does break, It'll park it in the garage until i have the time and moola to fix it

You say now, that you "WILL NOT RUN OVER 12psi ever", but once you get a taste of that boost you'll being drooling for more, and it's not that big of a price difference between the two, considering if you bought the p600 and upgraded to the 3-core intercooler

Don't get me wrong, the p600 is a great kit, I'm just very happy with the performance of the D1sc
