TT on a 305

Ok, I'm sure it's been asked,

A friend of mine said he could make the manifolds(2) for my car for about 150 each. And he also said we could search the junk yard and look for two identical turbos... something like T28's?

Besides upgrading injectors and fuel pump. would this be possible...

Im sure it may be difficult... But is it POSSIBLE

thanks...

Short answer: yes. Anything's possible - how fast do you want to spend?

What do you mean by spend fast? If I can spend under a grand for the turbos(out of a junk yard) and fuel pump; injectors.. then really fast....

But if I dont have to get it all at once... then Ill do it anyway.. As long as it can be done.

More than likely this wont be a daily driver...

don't you need piping, wastegates, blow off valves, maybe an intercooler, lots of dyno time and tuning. way more than a grand.

Oh yeah, and add to that the capability/knowledge to burn your own chips/program your computer. I'm definitely saying it can be done - matter of fact, I am planning on it as well - it's just gonna cost ya, not only money but in time as well. Pick up Corky Bell's book "Maximum Boost" and read through that a couple of times. Hugh McInnes has an older book on turbocharging that is supposedly REAL good on theory, though I haven't personally read it yet. Read through all of the turbo related posts on this board. Go to yahoo's groups and check out the 'jyturbo' group - read through all of those posts. Take copious amounts of notes on things to do and things to avoid - review them often and make revisions. Oh yeah, "pad" any cost estimation by 50% for "incidentals", "unavoidables", "while-I'm-here's" and boo-boos. That may seem high, but if you come in under that roof then all is good; if you don't... well...

It can be done.
