305 TPI with N20 how rich?
305 TPI with N20 how rich?
I have heard that the prom burners take out some of the fuel when they burn a new prom because a factory setup is set to run rich at WOT. I was wondering if this would compensate and protect the engine a bit better. I know if you run nitrous and you get too lean then it is game over. So I was wondering if the built in richness would compensate and cover my butt.

There isn't going to be a lot of protection to be had there but there may be a low level of protection compaired to a chip that may be burned too lean and maybe with too much timing advanvce.
Over the counter nitrous kits ar jetted a little on the rich side anyway.
More protection could be had by making sure your engine is in proper running condition and state of tune before using nitrous and by making sure the fuel system is up to the task. Be sure there are no kinks or crushed places in the fuel tubing. Keep the fuel filter changed often. check fuel pressure through out the RPM range at wide open throttle to be sure it is correct and not dropping.
Use a fuel pressure safety switch on the nitrous system.

Thanks for the info...ths web site is awesome for getting good info. I want to be as safe as possible and I am not willing to take chances. I don't need to spend all that money on a new motor for an extra 10th of a second. I really don't want to be stupid with this. Thanks again.
