Vortech mounting angle

I am curious: would rotating a V1-S so the outlet points toward the driver's side of the car have any negative affects on the blower?

Obviously I'd be doing something custom with the brackets.

Thanks for your input!

I dont think that it would have any bad affects.

Id call Vortech on it, but it shouldnt matter. On the LT1 cars, its the same compressor but the housing is rotated to point up instead.

EDIT: Why would you need different brackets? Just leave the brackets as is, and rotate the housing on the back. There are screws around the back that you can loosen, and take out. Then, rotate the back housing to what position you want and line up the screws and retighten them.

I didn't realize that you could rotate the blower from the drive, thanks!

I was concerned due to the oil feed/return, but if that part is separate from the blower, then maybe I have nothing to worry about.

I'm just considering how to mount it best for running an intercooler.

The Vortech has three oil outlets. You plug two and put the hose on the third. You can mout it with the pulley up, 45 degrees left or 45 degrees right.

The compressor housing can be rotated in any direction on the gearbox.

Custom brackets would be a must. When rotating the outlet it hits the mounting brackets. I added an intercooler and had to get the outlet that pointed towards the firewall.
