Nitrous in CA

I can't seem to get a clear answer on this topic. Can you have nitrous in CA? I know the NOS kit 5151 is 50 state legal but I'm going to get the Nitrous Express kit. So is this kit legal? Or do I just need to hide it and keep the bottle closed?

The legality issue of being 50 state legal applies to emissions.
Nitrous kits that are only activated at wide open throttle are legal in this respect.
The NX kit comes with a full throttle switch and should be fine.

But if you live in Va or Md, you cannot have nitrous connected. If they catch you there will be problems. The powers to be said 'nitrous causes fires in cars'.
