TBI and Supercharging

Though the dead horse has probably been beat on this..

I'm in the market for a supercharger I can use with my '92 305 TBI. I'm more into the centrifugal look mainly due to retaining a reasonably stock appearance. I'm also planning on modifying it from stock before I do buy the 'charger, as well.

I've went onto ATI's site but only found a supercharger for the truck motors. Would one of those be compatable with the F-body or? Could anyone suggest another vendor that makes a direct bolt-on system?

Thanks!

Not sure, but may be too big to fit in an f-body. If I were you, lose the TBI and buy a carbureted ATI kit.

Don't go carbureated!
The TBI works great with supercharging! I know!

Anybody seen or using the new Holley roots-type supercharger kit for TBI? The tbi bolts to the top of the supercharger like a carb. Thoughts?

Well, as much as I am a fan of a blower sticking out the hood -- eh.. I'm not looking to say "look at me, I have a supercharger."

I like Joby's custom fabrication.. now where's me a cnc machine.. heh.

Seriously though, would it probably be cheaper to just buy the unit and custom fab the rest? or the unit and brackets?

Thanks,
Azarel

Have you talked with ATI's tech guys about this at all? You could get the TPI specific kit--that would have all the correct brackets, and could possibly just make a TBI airbox to fit. I suggested the carb route b/c it would seem easier/less expensive (at least short term) because no fabrication is involved, and all the parts are readily available (like specially tuned carbs). You would definitely have to upgrade the TBI system to handle the increased airflow and fuel demands placed upon it...
