I know pretty much nothing about turbo other than it is operated by your exhaust. I have a stock 305 TBI with custom exhaust up to the manifold. There is a shop that handles wrecked cars close to where I live that has had an 80's Mustang just sitting there for about 6 months. I am wondering if I could take the turbo from the 'stang and make it work in my Camaro? Is that possible with some exhaust pipe mods or is do I need a certain type of turbo? Sorry if it's a dumb question I just don't know anything and am looking to learn. I just wanna say thanks for any help in advance.

 

I was doing some reading and I realize that this subject has been beat to death and I know I need to do some research on turbo's, this question is part of the research. I re-read my topic and realized that I forgot alot. I know that you can't just bolt on a turbo to a stock 305 and there are limits to the amount of boost you can run. The reason I ask is that I am wondering what mods I would need to make this work. Heads? Manifold? Inter-coolers? Any estimates as to price? Is it possible to sort of hide the turbo and not have it standing out over the rest of the motor? Again sorry for the dumb post just trying to learn.
