got a 305 tbi running again, lol, want more power

i want more power out of my 305 tbi in a camaro.its got 144,XXX on the ticker, but it still runs really nice,i was thinking it was rebuilt a while back.iw as thinking 488/510 cam,new roller rockers 1.6 ratio,im not sure what the ratio means tho???help with that?also, about the tbi unit, ive heard of people useing a dremil?but i dont really wanna do that, lol.its got an exhaust from a ls1 camaro, headers is my next upgrade, but while i got it taken apart, you think that cam would be a good match?im building a 78 350 4 bolt main, and i can reuse the cam i think? just needed some power adders without spending more then 500 bucks.its a limited slip 3.08 rear,i thnk thta was the standard rear end in the 25th anniversary camaro? any help is appreciated

you should be able to get a decent nitrous kit for $500, that's where I'd be looking.

You should ditch the TBI and go TPI like im doing to much money to modify TBI, and its not really worth it

This is the wrong forum then, this section is for nitrous oxide and/or boosted applications. Try general tech

Nitrous itself does not blow up engines. Improper use of nitrous ruins engines. If you get the N2O kit you can do the small power level that you would have gained with the cam/headers/etc.

Later on, when it is rebuilt you can up the power of the N2O kit. If you went the headers/cam/etc route then you would see a very small gain with the engine rebuilt.

I put a power chip from www.tbichips.com in my stock 305tbi automatic.

You feel it wen you push the accelerator full down. And speed limit is set at 240mph.

80$chip + 520$ saved for your next newer engine!

Nothing against buying chips. I still don't understand how someone can take GM's code and re-sell it with a few fuel table & spark table tweaks. Seems kind of wrong.

Peak HP probably didn't change much, but the ramped up timing probably makes the car feel faster.

...and there's no way you can say that chip gave you 15hp (as stated in another thread) just by how it felt to you.

BTW, yes this is in the wrong forum since you don't want any power adders...

You people probably right. But I just dit not want to cut wires to owercome the speed limiter.

for the hp I dont know how to test it but now at kick down it ist faster then it was before.

We tested it against my broethrs exact same car and it made adifference
